Stealing Angels maintains a special place in the artist’s heart as the largest piece done in his studio practice to date. Coming in at 8 feet long, the painting features a ragtag band of misfits doing as the title suggests - stealing angels. All the cherubs are a nod to the artist’s muse: a mannequin named Ivanka he found while in Berlin. In the full image more angels circle as a deity figure shoos the bandits away by blowing air through a larger than life plastic straw.
